Mothers Out Front will lead a Heat Island Safari from the front steps of Newton City Hall on Saturday, July 5, starting at 1PM. Learn how trees keep the city cool. The group will use infrared thermometers to measure the temperature of different surfaces in the sun and in the shade — to see and feel how the sun heats up streets, sidewalks, driveways, and playgrounds compared to shady, tree-covered areas.
