Newton’s fourth annual Juneteenth Celebration will be held on June 19, 12PM-4PM, at the Hyde Community Center (90 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands). Families, kids, friends, and parents are invited for a day of unity and joy, filled with fun, food, and community spirit.
This free outdoor celebration will feature two food trucks (Reggae Foods and Zaz), live performances that include Devlin Scott, Tom Petty’s steel band and Afro Diamonds, music by DJ Firestarta, kids’ face painting by EyeDezign, shopping local Black-owned businesses, and activities for all ages.
The will commemorate 160 years of emancipation of enslaved African Americans.
