Composite Chamber Players: Love, Life and Death: Pieces for voice, viola, and piano, June 4

Composite Chamber Players will present a concert, Love, Life and Death: Pieces for voice, viola, and piano on Wednesday, June 4, 7:30PM at the Church of the Redeemer (379 Hammond Street, Chestnut Hill). The program includes:

  • Andrew Gretzinger, “Songs About Time” for soprano + piano and a new piece for tenor + piano
  • Johannes Brahms, “Zwei Gesänge” for alto, viola, and piano, Op. 91
  • Marcea McGuire, “Where the Flowers Grow” for soprano + piano and “Indiana” for voice + piano + electronics
  • Maru Seng Hkawn, new piece for soprano + piano
  • Michael Berkowitz, “Patroclus in Purgatory” for SATB + piano, “Three Rothko Miniatures” for piano
  • Ruth Hertzman-Miller, “Question,” “The Purist,” “Philosophy” for mezzo soprano and a new piece, “Entreaty,” for bass voice + piano
  • Yuseok Seol, “Three songs from Emily Dickinson” for soprano + piano

The concert features sopranist Kayla Kovas, mezzo sopranist Nina Gojcaj, tenorist Nicholas Alessi, bassist Alec House-Baillargeon, vocalist Marcea McGuire, violist Andrew Gretzinger, and pianist Yuseok Seol.
