- Appointment of Daniel Manning to the Sustainable Materials Management Commission (6-0) Daniel Manning discussed his interest in the commission, which stemmed from community involvement and a focus on waste reduction. The committee appreciated his willingness to serve, highlighting the importance of citywide composting efforts.
- Authorization to expend $750,000 from the Current Year Stormwater Reserves (6-0). Funds will support the design and engineering of stormwater control measures under the City’s Phosphorus Control Plan, crucial for compliance with EPA requirements. Commissioner Sullivan detailed the projects’ scope, highlighting their environmental impact.
The committee voted to hold the following:
- Request for a main drain extension at 132 Homer Street (6-0) for public hearing to continue and for further inspection of the drainage system. The proposal involves a main drain extension near Chapin Road to manage increased water flow due to new construction. Concerns were raised about the adequacy of current drainage systems and the impact on local groundwater levels. A further inspection of the pipes and system is planned before construction begins. The committee emphasized the importance of community feedback in the subdivision approval process and acknowledged ongoing issues with flooding on Chapin Road. Further discussions are planned to address these concerns comprehensively. Petitioner will pay the entire cost of construction. Project Documents
