Avi Attar, a senior at Princeton, is one of two students receiving this year’s Moses Taylor Pyne Honor Prize — the University’s highest general distinction for undergraduates, awarded to “the senior who has most clearly manifested excellent scholarship, strength of character and effective leadership.”

Rep. John Lawn has been named this year’s ‘Champion of Youth’ by the Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs.

John Sangiolo, a long-time mentor of the Ligerbots, was named a finalist for the FIRST Robotics Competition Woodie Flowers Award at the New England FIRST District Championship in Springfield on April 5. The Woodie Flowers Award “celebrates effective communication in the art and science of engineering and design.” At each Regional Competition, one adult mentor is chosen as a finalist, and one of them will receive the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award at the World Championship.

Paul Levy has been elected president of the board of the Charles River Watershed Association.

David Thau, a former resident of Waban, has once again been awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk. He was David was the top fundraiser for Jimmy Fund Walk for the last four years. This year he personally raised $195, 000 and is co-captain of Team Beyond CRC
