The Newton Conservators will host a Signs of Spring in Webster Woods. Join Barbara Bates, Newton Conservators Director and retired Mass Audubon teacher/naturalist, for a ramble through Webster Woods to see what spring ephemeral flowers are in bloom and whether the wood frogs are still calling in Bare Pond, the vernal pool. The walk is for ages 5+, and will be around 1.5mi with frequent stops. The trail can be rocky and muddy in places and there are one or two steep places where a trekking pole can be helpful. Bring insect repellent and dress accordingly. It will take place on Saturday, May 10, 10AM-12PM at Webster Woods (404 Hammond Pond Parkway, Chestnut Hill). Registration is required.
