Newton Free Library Board of Trustees – Development Committee will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Monday, April 14 at 10AM. The agenda includes the following:

Newton Commonwealth Foundation Greens Subcommittee will meet in person (Room 211) on Tuesday, April 15 at 10AM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Hole #13 renovations
  • Discuss hiring a consultant to review golf maintenance program

Design Review Committee/Franklin School Building Committee will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Wednesday, April 16 at 6PM. The agenda includes the following:

Zoning Board of Appeals will meet in person (Council Chamber) and virtually (Zoom link) on Wednesday, April 16 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Appeal of a November 1, 2024 determination of the Commissioner of Inspectional Services interpretation of Section 5.3.A of the Newton Zoning Ordinances to a change in grade at 9 Forest Street
  • Meeting Minutes for September 9, 2024; September 18, 2024; October 16, 2024; March 26, 2025

Chestnut Hill Historic District Commission will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, April 17 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to install underground electrical with pedestal mounted meter and disconnect panel at 155 Chestnut Hill Road
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to replace existing wood railing with PVC railing at 67 Old Orchard Road
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to replace metal stairs with stone stairs from driveway, install two stone retaining walls, bluestone patios, stone gas fire pit, masonry built-in grill, and two masonry pillars with Bluestone caps at driveway entrance. Additionally, install new six-foot cedar tongue-and-groove privacy fence, repair and restore stone wall under rear deck, add a step to rear lawn, convert lattice panel to a gate for yard access from basement, correct drainage, and add lighting at 61 Gate House Road
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to alter previously approved proposal to incorporate second egress from garage ADU at 61 Gate House Road
  • Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to install bathroom vent located in front former to two possible locations, and change entry door hardware at 61 Gate House Road.

Urban Tree Commission will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Friday, April 18 at 7:45AM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Approve minutes 
  • Forestry Department update 
  • Tree removal requests
  • New business
