The Programs & Services Committee approved the following (read the report and watch the meeting video):
- Request for ordinance amendment to update the City Seal (5-2, Councilors Malakie and Farrell Opposed). “The Chair outlined that the Council previously approved the design of the new City Seal at the February 18, 2025 Council meeting. The proposed ordinance amendment would amend the image within the ordinance along with updating the word description of the City Seal in Section 1-8. A Councilor asked if the color version of the seal should also be included in the ordinance amendment, and it was noted that the current ordinance does not have the color version of the current City Seal. Hattie Kerwin Derrick added that a style guide will be issued upon passage of this ordinance to ensure uniformity in how the seal is depicted. It was proposed by a Councilor that the term “outer circle” be changed to “outer band” as the shape is not a perfect circle.”
