Newton Theatre Company will present Doubt: A Parable over two weekends, March 28-29 and April 4-5, at St. John’s Episcopal Church (96 Otis Street, Newtonville).
Doubt: A Parable is a powerful drama by John Patrick Shanley set in a 1960s Catholic school, where suspicion and morality collide. When a popular priest is accused of inappropriate behavior with a student, the strict principal, Sister Aloysius, becomes determined to uncover the truth—despite lacking evidence. As the tension between certainty and doubt grows, the characters must face difficult questions about faith, justice, and the nature of truth.
With Linda Goetz and Jeff Knoedler in the lead roles, Doubt: A Parable will keep the audience questioning until the very end. Don’t miss this provocative and thought-provoking 2005 Pulitzer Prize winning drama that garnered a Tony for Best Play.
