I disagree totally with Councilor Leary. Her position on Land Use petitions in Nonantum does not reflect the serious concerns of people in her ward. The request for spot rezoning on Watertown Street is a proposal that threatens the livelihood of many small business owners. What a colossal mistake that could have been. The 10-unit project could have been built without rezoning. I suggest the 3 councilors from Ward 1 failed to find an acceptable compromise to this development dilemma and must take responsibility for its failure.
