Students and families are invited to participate in Fessenden School’s Bikes Not Bombs Bike Drive, a community service initiative on Saturday, April 5, from 10:30AM to 2:30PM at the Bernon Loop at The Fessenden School (250 Waltham St, West Newton).
This student-led initiative aims to collect used, old, or broken bicycles for donation to Bikes Not Bombs, a nonprofit organization that refurbishes bikes for underserved communities in Boston’s neighborhoods (such as Mattapan, Dorchester, and Roxbury) and internationally in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
By donating a bike, students and families can help provide economic mobility, access to education, and sustainable transportation to those in need. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to engage with educational programming on bike mechanics, bike safety, and advocacy, reinforcing the importance of sustainability and social responsibility.
How to Get Involved:
- Donate a bike – Drop off used, old, or broken bicycles at the designated collection area.
- Spread the word – Share this opportunity with your school community
- Volunteer – Students and families are welcome to help with collection efforts

Thank you for supporting this meaningful cause and empowering students to make a difference!
