Zoning and Planning will meet in person (Room 204) and virtually (Zoom link) on Monday, February 10 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:
- Appointment of Robert Jampol to the Conservation Commission.
- Request for discussion and adoption of amendments to the City’s floodplain ordinance (22-22) in order to: (1) remain in compliance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA’s) National Floodplain Insurance Program (NFIP) and allow residents to obtain federal flood insurance, and (2) maintain regulatory control over current City-designated floodplain areas
- Request for discussion and amendments to Newton’s Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Ordinance, so it complies with the State’s Zoning Act (Ch. 40A) (Mayor’s request) (see Planning Memo)
- Request for discussion and possible amendments to Chapter 30, Zoning regarding Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) in addition to those needed to comply with recent changes to the State’s Zoning Act (Ch. 40A). (Zoning and Planning Committee’s request)
- Request for discussion and possible amendments to remove or reduce parking minimums for commercial uses in commercial centers (see Planning Memo)
- Reappointment of Amy Dain to the Planning and Development Board
