Andromeda of Boston: Spring Hafla dance showcase, Mar. 29

Andromeda of Boston will present Halfa 2025 — a showcase of dance ranging from MENAHT (Middle Eastern, North African, Hellenic, Turkish) to Asian, Balkan, and Eastern European inspired styles. It will take place on March 29 at 6:30PM at Grace Episcopal Church (76 Eldredge Street, Newton Corner).

The organization strives to promote peace and joy through dance. There will be refreshments and social dancing (including Greek line dancing) after the performance featuring live music from Boston Taxim Band.

The event will feature student troupes House of Andromeda, Sirens of the Bay, Kaylin’s students, and professional Menaht Style Dancers from all over New England.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Newton Cultural Council, a local council that is supported by the Mass Cultural Council and the City of Newton — as well as a grant from Newton Community Pride.

Andromeda Belly Dance was established by Director Andromeda of Boston in 2015. It’s a dance troupe embracing cultural dance, body positivity, and empowerment of women and minorities in the community, having performed in the Adventure and Travel Show at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston and local assisted living facilities.

Alcohol is not allowed on the premises. Street parking is available. Event is accessible. Grace Church is a safe space open to all. The show is family friendly.

Seating is reserved. A limited number of free tickets are available for Newton residents. Email AndromedaofBoston@gmail.com. Others may purchase tickets for $10, $15, or $20.
