Are there empty spaces on the berms in your neighborhood where street trees formerly provided shade and beauty? Would you like to work with your neighbors and the Newton Tree Conservancy to plant new trees? The Newton Tree Conservancy is now accepting applications until December 1, 2024 for its 2025 Spring Community Tree Planting on April 26, 2025.
The Newton Tree Conservancy plants in groups of eight or more trees where five or more homeowners, in relatively close proximity, have one or more empty spots. Tree recipients must then care for the new trees for the first two years after planting. There is no cost to homeowners as the Community Tree Planting program relies on donations and grants.
