This week Newton celebrates Halloween Window Painting — an event created by Meryl Kessler and Barbara Litwin 25 years ago and now hosted by Newton Cultural Development. Businesses donate window space, and students in Grades 3-8 sign up to create spooky — and sometimes very clever — works of art that remain on display for the week before Halloween.
Fig City News visited all eight sites for this year’s Halloween Window Painting — Auburndale, Newton Centre, Newton Free Library, Newton Highlands, Newtonville, Nonantum, Waban, and West Newton — and took photos of every Halloween Window Painting we could find. Over 350 paintings. Did we miss any?
