David Rockwell has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Volunteers of America of Massachusetts, a nonprofit creating opportunities for over 3,500 individuals through residential and outpatient behavioral health treatment, re-entry services for justice-involved individuals, veteran services, and senior living. Prior to his retirement, Rockwell served for 25 years as Director of Lending for the Massachusetts Housing Partnership, where he led the closing of first-mortgage permanent loans covering nearly 25,000 affordable multi-family rental units in the state. He also serves as a housing adviser on the Newton Housing Partnership.
Christina Wood Baker, Ph.D., has joined the Board of Directors of Doc Wayne Youth Services, a nonprofit provider of sport-based mental health therapy for youth. The Boston-based organization has reached 1 million youth in 32 countries, including 2,880 served weekly throughout Greater Boston. Brown is a clinical health psychologist in private practice specializing in eating and weight disorders and anxiety — working primarily with adolescents, young adults, athletes, and parents. She previously worked at the MGH Weight Center and the MGH Eating Disorders Clinical and Research Program and was President of the Board of Directors at Community Rowing (CRI), dedicated to making rowing accessible to individuals from all backgrounds.
Rachel Linsky, a contemporary dance artist born and raised in Newton, will present her work Gathering Sparks, a fusion of contemporary dance and Yiddish folk traditions, as part of Welcome Home — a dance production “designed to create space for comfort and relief in stressful times.” Performances will be on October 18-19 at the Boston University Dance Theater. Linsky directs and choreographs ZACHOR, an ongoing performance series aiming to preserve the words and memories of WWII Holocaust survivors through dance. Her choreography has been featured at the New England Conservatory, Boston Center for the Arts, The Huntington Theatre, and The Museum of Fine Arts.
