City Council
Land Use will meet on Tuesday to consider:
- Raised ridgeline and roof pitch and two-story additions on both sides of 49 Lenox Street
- Oversized attic dormers at 45 Bishopsgate Road
- Rebuilding and enclosing porches and adding dormers at 12-14 Stoneleigh Road
- Extending nonconforming front setback, relocating the building toward the street, and converting three garage stalls to carports at 290 Watertown Street
- Additional parking at 120 Norwood Avenue
- Three attached single-family dwellings in two separate buildings and surface parking stalls on an undersized lot at 56 Chapel Street
- Retaining walls along the sides and rear of 54-56 Indiana Terrace

School Committee has no meetings scheduled for this week.
Boards and Commissions
Chestnut Hill Historic District Commission will hold a site visit at 61 Gatehouse Road on Tuesday to review existing windows and the proposed location of accessory unit HVAC equipment.
Walker Center Joint Advisory Planning Group will meet for the first time on Tuesday for:
- Introductions
- Overview of the Walker Center property and history
- Overview of the Real Property Reuse process
- Setting leadership, meeting dates, and site-visit dates
Newton Commonwealth Foundation, which operates the municipal golf course, will meet on Tuesday to:
- Hear reports from the Treasurer and Sterling Golf (operator)
- Appoint trustees
- Establish a By-laws Review Committee and a Greens Committee
- Hear from the RFP subcommittee regarding golf course management
Newton Retirement Board will meet on Wednesday regarding several new, administrative, and pending agenda items; the Director’s report; and correspondence.
Design Review Committee/Countryside School Building Committee will meet on Wednesday regarding building and site lighting, and 60% Construction documents.
Other
Advanced Processing of Early Ballots: In compliance with the VOTES ACT, the City will conduct advanced (early) processing of 100 Early Voted ballots from each precinct, starting on Wednesday August 28, at 9AM. Advanced depositing of the ballots through the high speed processor will begin on Thursday, August 29 at 9AM. All of this is open to the public and will take place in the War Memorial Auditorium in City Hall. No tabulation results will be determined or announced until after the polls close on September 3 at 8PM.
The Development Review Team will meet to consider an accessory building at 18 Sewell Street and a second parking stall at 14 Manitoba Road.
