Rucinski: Sangiolo for 11th Middlesex State Representative

I am writing to endorse Amy Sangiolo for State Representative from the 11th Middlesex District.

My overriding issue in every election is climate change. From my earliest days as a climate activist, Amy has been a valued mentor and advisor. Early in 2013 then-Alderman (sic) Sangiolo mentored me in working with the Programs and Services Committee to lobby for Board passage of a resolution calling on Congress to put a price on carbon. The resolution was subsequently approved by a unanimous vote.

Amy has been a valuable sounding board for me as I have focused on lobbying at the federal level for an economy-wide, revenue-neutral fee on carbon pollution. In my conversations with Amy, she demonstrates her depth of knowledge of the political process and officeholders around the state, as well as a willingness to put the time in to help others advance their advocacy of issues of importance to them.

As others have noted, Amy prioritizes transparency and good governance. There is no question that she will work tirelessly for the good of her constituents and all citizens of the Commonwealth. Her recognition of the need for robust action to mitigate future climate damages will help Massachusetts provide leadership for other states to follow.
