I support Rick Lipof for State Representative for Middlesex District 12.
After this last legislative session ended without passing key legislation – the economic development and the climate bills, it is critical to elect someone to be our State Representative who can get things done.
We need someone with the experience and ability to work with people, to work with the other legislators to figure out how to move the process forward and actually pass legislation.
As Chair of the City Council’s Land Use committee, Rick worked with other Councilors, with homeowners, with neighbors of a project, with people advocating for affordable housing, and with those wanting stronger climate considerations. Rick helped move the challenging discussions along and helped negotiate solutions.
This skill of working with colleagues and constituents is sorely needed in the legislature to pass critical legislation to address climate and affordability in our state.
Therefore, vote for Rick Lipof for State Representative on September 3rd or before when you mail-in your ballot.
Finally, no matter who you vote for state rep, vote for Mara Dolan for Governor’s Council. It’s time for a change. She’ll bring her skills as a public defender to the Council which is an important but little known council that approves judges and appoints the parole boards. She has been endorsed by many organizations and 9 Newton City Councilors.
