The Land Use Committee voted to approve the following (see Report and watch the video):
- Garage Expansion at 102 Gordon Road (7-0, Councilor Ferrell not voting): Stephanie and Arthur Andersen III received approval to remove a wall between the two-car garage and workshop, allowing for additional garage space exceeding 700 square feet. Draft Order
- Accessory Apartment and Dormer at 62 Lenox Street (6-0, Councilor Downs Not Voting): Heather Egan received approval to establish an as-of-right accessory apartment within the carriage house, along with constructing oversized dormers further extending the nonconforming FAR. No one spoke at the public hearing. Draft Order
The Land Use Committee voted to hold the following:
- Rezoning and Construction at 329-331 and 335 River Street (7-0): River Street Development LLC’s request to rezone two parcels from Single Residence 3 to Multi Residence 1, and to allow the construction of six attached single-family dwellings with reduced parking stall depth. The public hearing, Planning & Development Board, and Committee raised concerns about grading, water runoff, increased traffic, tree removal, and size of units. Item was held to allow petitioners to respond to the questions at the next Land Use meeting.
- FAR and Retaining Walls at 8 Everett Street (7-0): Sam and Randie Goldberger’s request to exceed the maximum FAR and to allow retaining walls exceeding four feet in height for a new attached garage and mudroom addition. The petitioners asked the item be held for a later meeting.
