Jablon: Why I should be the 11th Middlesex District State Representative

Newton is more than just my hometown; it’s the community that shaped who I am today. Growing up here, I’ve seen both the challenges our city faces and the immense potential within our community and its residents. We need proactive, bold leadership to harness this potential and address the pressing issues we face.

The legislature’s recent inaction on critical issues like economic development, clean energy, and affordable housing is unacceptable. Our community cannot afford to wait any longer for the progress we need. We need a representative dedicated to challenging the status quo and advocating for transformative reforms. This candidate needs to be one focused on the future, not the past. I believe, with your support, I can be that representative.

Transparency and accountability are the cornerstones of a healthy democracy. Too often, decisions are made behind closed doors with little input from those affected. If elected, I will fight to ensure the legislative process is open and accessible. I will advocate for measures such as requiring all committee votes to be public and ensuring all proposed bills are easily accessible online for public review. This transparency will make our elected leaders more accountable for their actions and more likely to collaborate effectively.

My career in finance has equipped me with the skills needed to tackle complex budgetary issues and legislation. I have overseen hundred-million-dollar budgets and worked as a financial auditor, focusing on anti-corruption and anti-bribery initiatives. In recognition of my expertise, I was appointed to Newton’s Financial Audit Advisory Committee by the City Council President in June 2023. This experience ensures that I am ready to address our community’s financial challenges from day one and deliver real results.

In closing, I am running for State Representative because I love our community and want to make it better. If elected, I will be committed to overcoming obstacles, fostering growth, and ensuring that Newton thrives for generations to come.
