Green Newton will host its annual Environmental Leadership Awards Celebration on September 19, 6:30PM-9PM, at Hibernian Hall (151 Watertown Street). The event will celebrate the important work of environmental community members with the presentation of the 2024 Louise Bruyn Environmental Leadership Awards to six who have made significant contributions to environmental conservation and sustainability in Newton and Massachusetts:
- Ruth Balser, MA State Representative
- Kay Khan, MA State Representatives
- Deb Crossley, former Newton City Councilor
- Alicia Bowman, former Newton City Councilor
- Fulfilled Goods, low-waste market
- Friends of Cold Spring Park, non-profit stewards of Cold Spring Park
The event, emceed by City Councilor Vicki Danberg, will include a cocktail reception, sustainable dinner, raffle and online auction. Tickets are for sale online.
