Green Newton: Sustainable Street Tour in Newtonville, Oct. 5

Green Newton has organized yet another Sustainable Street Tour — this one on Clyde Street in Newtonville on October 5, 10AM-Noon — where attendees can talk with Newton homeowners who have made their homes more energy efficient with heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers.

Clyde Street is across Walnut Street from Newton North HS. On the tour, attendees can start at 34 Clyde Street and then walk among five homes on the street to talk with homeowners about what they have done to make their homes more energy efficient. In addition, participants will have an opportunity to meet with “Energy Coaches”- volunteer experts who can answer questions and provide resources and information to make homes more energy efficient and sustainable.

Green Newton Executive Director, Judy Lehrer Jacobs, said, “The Sustainable Street Tour is a wonderful opportunity for people to meet and learn from their neighbors who have taken steps to make their homes more energy efficient and sustainable for the long-term.”

Registration is encouraged but not required. Registered participants will receive updates about the event and any changes due to inclement weather.
