The Newton Parks, Recreation and Culture Department and the Friends of Newton Tennis run the Garden City Tennis Series — a 250-player, co-ed series of tennis tournaments. This level-based community tennis series is one of the largest in the U.S. and is open to Newton residents and non-residents.
The series kicks off August 16-18 at the Newton North High School tennis complex with the 1st Annual Garden City High Singles Championships for high-performance players. It continues through the first two weekends of September with the 3rd Annual Garden City Doubles Championships for novice to high-performance players. Part of the Garden City Doubles Championships is a new women’s only division for local high school, college, and adult players.
