City Council

School Committee

Board and Commission Meetings

Newton Commonwealth Foundation Board’s RFP Subcommittee, which operates the municipal golf course, will meet on Tuesday to review the Request for Proposals for the 2025 golf course management contract.

    Newton Free Library Board of Trustees Finance Committee will meet on Tuesday to consider FY24 Financial Investment Review and FY25 priorities.

    Chestnut Hill Historic District Commission will meet on Wednesday to consider:

    • Certificates of Appropriateness:
      • Replace gutters, fascia, and soffit at 111 Suffolk Road
      • Paint siding, trim, and shutters; install shutter moldings and hardware; change previously approved windows in addition, and change garage doors at 17 Old England Road
      • Install a generator at 100 Old England Road
      • Replace side porch windows at 14 Meigh Road
    • Final Project Approval for hardscaping, shed, generator, pool, and pool terrace at 152 Suffolk Road
    • Administrative: Review of minutes, approval of chip seal driveways, and commission elections

    Newton Citizens Commission on Energy will meet on Thursday for an update on BERDO and a strategy discussion.

    Conservation Commission will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, August 1 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

    • Notice of Intent for single-family home redevelopment with Buffer Zone in rear at 36 Bonnybrook Rd

    • Informal Discussion on Violation of Plans at 71 Harwich Rd
    • Request for Certificate of Compliance for driveway and landscaping at 192 Concord St

    Newtonville Local Historic District Commission will meet on Thursday to consider:

    • Violation of the Historic District Ordinance at 218 Walnut Street: Work done to replace a section of the slate roof without review and approval
    • Request for Certificate of Appropriateness to Remediate Violation at 218 Walnut Street: Request to remediate work to replace a section of the slate roof
    • Administrative Discussion includes review of meeting minutes and commission elections

    Other

    Development Review Team will meet regarding potential projects at 31 Chase Street and 275 Grove Street.
