Historic Newton is hosting a walking tour — The Tree Nursery on Nonantum Hill — where participants will learn about one of New England’s first nurseries in Newton Corner, travel the original acreage of the nursery, visit the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds, and possibly taste fruit from Durant-Kenrick’s historic gardens. It will take around one hour, cover around one-half to one mile, and sturdy shoes and a water bottle are recommended. It will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 6-7PM at Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds (286 Waverley Avenue, Newton Corner). Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for members, and free for kids 12 and under. The exact meeting location for each walking tour will be shared after buying tickets.
