Focus on Digital Art, an exhibit of digital art featuring the work of four women artists, including Jenny Pivor from Newton, will open on July 2 at the gallery at Focus Real Estate (43 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands) and run through August 31. An opening reception, open to the public, will be held 5PM-6:30PM on Thursday, July 11.
Digital art uses digital technology as an essential part of the creative or presentation process, according to Jenny Pivor. She said the artists utilize a wide range of techniques and styles, including creating artwork directly on a computer and manipulating and editing photographs and, in some cases, combining the two processes. The other digital artists showing their works at the exhibition include Nicole Mordecai, Beth Crastnope,l and Ellen Feldman, all from area communities.
