Library Computer and Technology Upgrade (Item #193-24): Authorization to transfer $100,000 from full-time salaries to a library project account to replace aging computers and technology at the end of life for software updates and security patches. The funds would help replace 40-50 computers at the Newton Free Library identified with failing parts, and software support limitations. The Library Director noted modern libraries run on technology and that replacing computers has not been in their budget in recent years. Approved unanimously. (7-0)
