Newton people in the news…

Alice Lichtenstein

Alice Lichtenstein has received the American Heart Association’s Award of Meritorious Achievement — the association’s “highest honor given to those that make a true impact” on its mission. She has worked for more than four decades in all levels of the AHA, prompting the expansion and exchange of knowledge on nutrition, physical activity, and metabolism related to cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The award reflects her “significant commitment of time, talent and expertise in grading abstracts, writing statements and guidelines to support high quality clinical practice standards, mentoring and inspiring others to build careers in science and medicine, and recognizing deserving colleagues …in advocating for longer, healthier lives for all.”
