NewtonSERVES — the City’s annual day of volunteering to clean and improve parks, school grounds, open space areas, and conservation lands — will be May 5. This year there are 24 project sites:
- Schools: Bigelow, Brown, Burr, Franklin, Horace Mann, Newton South HS, Oak Hill, Underwood, Williams
- Parks: Bulloughs Pond, Cold Spring Park, Dolan Pond, Edmands Park, Nahanton Woodcock Meadow, Weeks Park, Wellington Park
- Other: East Parish Burial Grounds, Forest Avenue, Houghton Garden, Martin Poetry Path, Upper Falls Greenway, Waban Common, Washington Park, West Parish Burial Ground
Volunteers 18 years or older must register, and volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
