Newton-Wellesley Hospital Gala will hold its 24th Annual Gala on May 3 at the InterContinental Hotel Boston. The money raised will support the hospital and the Community Collaborative, which addresses unmet health needs in Newton and five surrounding communities — lessening healthcare disparities, strengthening the social fabric of support, and empowering residents to lead healthier lives.
At this year’s Gala, the inaugural Community Champion Award will be presented to Dr. Michael Jellinek, former President of Newton-Wellesley Hospital from 2001-2012 and Medical Director of the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Community Collaborative. He is Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Adjunct Professor of Social Policy and Health Care at the Heller School, Brandeis University.
