Land Use – 4/2/24 Report

Land Use voted to approve the following (see Report and watch NewTV video):

Request to allow a for-profit school at 2 Wells Avenue: TWO WELLS AVE EQUITY IND. PART. received approval to operate a vacation day camp at 2 Wells Avenue. The camp, aimed at employees’ children of Bright Horizons, an infant through PreKindergarten for-profit school, will operate during school vacations. Concerns about traffic impact were discussed but deemed minimal. (7-0)

Petition Documents Draft Council Order

Request to further extend a nonconforming two-family dwelling and nonconforming front setback at 265-267 River Street: AMERICAN WAY DEVELOPMENT, INC’s proposal to raise the roof and add dormers at 265-267 River Street was approved. Changes included additional parking, including permeable parking in the rear, and an enclosed porch. (7-0)

Petition Documents Draft Council Order

Land Use voted to hold the following:

Request to allow a retaining wall exceeding four feet at 54-56 Indiana Terrace: INDIANA TERRACE LLC’s request a continuance because architectural plans do not match what had been built, including gables and a balcony on the house. Neighbors at the public hearing said they had not been contacted about the project. The developer said abutters will be consulted. (7-0)
