The Charles River Food Co-op — now with 805 paid members and continuing its plans to find a physical site — will present Food for Change at the West Newton Cinema (1296 Washington Street, West Newton) on May 5 at 10AM. It’s a film examining the historical and cultural impact of alternative regional food systems and cooperatives in the United States. According to NYU professor Marian Nestle, “This film should inspire anyone interested in creating socially just, community supported, and economically viable enterprises.” Tickets are $5.
