State Representative Bud L. Williams has proposed House Bill 3913 – An Act Relative to Missing Black Women and Girls in Massachusetts, which would implement Ebony Alert — a special alert system similar to an Amber Alert to notify the public when Black women and girls disappear under unexplained circumstances. Boston-based nonprofit My Life My Choice, which works with survivors of human trafficking to prevent and educate people in commercial sexual exploitation, has voiced support for the bill. It advocates for legislative policies that codify the “safety, rights and resources for minors and adult survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.”
