Newton’s Family FunFEST seeks student performers, May 18

Newton Cultural Development (NCD) is seeking Newton students in grades 3-12 to perform as part of the 2024 Family FunFEST on Saturday, May 18. Student artists have been selected to paint murals as part of a public art project, and there will be an open stage to showcase youth performers. Last year’s SHINE performances were a highlight of the fair.

Students who are poets, musicians, dancers, or other types of performing artists are encouraged to apply online to present a 20-minute performance before a large audience at FunFEST. Family FunFEST attracts over 3,000 attendees each year and aims to grow engagement with the arts, showcasing Newton students by giving them an opportunity to SHINE. These performances are free and open to all, and the location is wheelchair accessible. For more information, email culture@newtonma.gov.
