Newton Youth Ultimate is holding a free learn to play clinic for girls in grades 4-7 on Saturday, February 3, from 4PM-6PM in the gymnasium at Day Middle School. Players will learn how to throw and catch and will spend a lot of time playing small-sided games of ultimate. It will be tons of fun!
Don’t know anything about ultimate? That’s 100% OK. Ultimate is a bit like basketball in that it requires a lot of jumping, fast cutting, and quick decision making. In fact, many ultimate players use basketball as an off-season conditioning sport. Ultimate is unique in the sports world in that games are played without referees. Players are responsible for calling their own fouls and making sure that the game runs smoothly and fairly.
Participation in this program is FREE. Sign up here. All participants will have to sign two liability waivers, which will be sent to all parents/guardians in advance. We have room for up to 20 players in each hour-long session. Grades 4 & 5 will be from 4-5PM, and Grades 6 & 7 will be from 5-6PM.
This clinic is being hosted by Newton Youth Ultimate, which runs youth ultimate programs for players in grades K-12 in Newton. We are part of Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance. Want more information? Email Burt Granofsky.
