The Programs & Services Committee voted to approve the following (see Report and watch the NewTV video):
- Appointment of Emma Zhang, Zach Gusenoff, Sarina Chand, Phoebe Anthony, Nick Makura, and Chloe Lee as membesr of the Youth Commission. According to the report, multiple appointees agreed with allowing 16 and 17-year-olds to vote, noting the need for voting to become a habit and 16 and 17-year-olds having to pay taxes if they have a job. The Committee approved the appointments 7-0.
- Reappointment of Rakashi Chand and Russel Feldman as a Jackson Homestead Trustees. The Committee approved 6-0, Councilor Baker not voting).
The Programs & Services Committee voted to hold the following:
- Discussion and possible amendment to the City Council Rules to add an Ethics Commission or Committee. According to the report, the City has a code of conduct for employees, that does not apply to Councilors. Human Resources advised the Councilors to first look at what behavior they want to discourage and then focus on the enforcement. The Committee voted 7-0 to hold. See also Fig City News article.
