Board and Commission Meetings – Week of 12/3/2023

Newton Cultural Council will meet in person (1294 Centre Street) and virtually (Zoom link) on Monday, December 4 at 5PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Round 2 – Presentation & Adjudication of 2024 Grants: Council members to present:

Planning and Development Board will meet in person (Room 204) and virtually (Zoom link) on Monday, December 4 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Community Development Block Grant Substantial Amendment Public Hearing: West Newton Family Navigation Center, 1650 Washington Street, Funding Request
  • Petition to rezone lot on Dedham Street (former Water Tower site), currently zoned as Public Use, to Single Residence 1

Election Commission will meet in person (Room 211) and virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, December 5 at 3PM to certify the November 2023 election results. (See agenda and see Fig City News article on Ward 6 Ward Councilor recount).

Board of License Commissioners will hold a special virtual meeting (Zoom link) on Tuesday, December 5 at 7:30PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request for a One-Day All Alcohol and Entertainment License for a holiday party on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 7PM – 9PM to be held at the War Memorial Hall
  • Request for a One-Day Temporary Wine and Malt License for a company holiday party on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 5PM – 11PM to be held at the Windsor Club
  • 2 Requests for a One-Day Temporary Entertainment License:
    • New year celebration on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 5:00PM – 9:00PM to be held at the War Memorial Hall
    • Fundraiser for Israel and Ukraine concert and activities on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 1PM – 7PM to be held at the War Memorial
  • Request for a Change of Hours at The Cork and Board
    from Tuesday-Thursday 10AM-8PM, Friday-Saturday 10AM-9PM and Sunday 12PM-6PM
    to Monday-hursday 10AM-10PM, Friday 10AM-11PM, Saturday 9AM-11PM and Sunday 11AM-8PM.
