Board and Commission Meetings – Week of 12/17/2023

Newton Cultural Council will meet in person (1294 Centre Street) and virtually (Zoom link) on Monday, December 18 at 5PM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Round 4 – Presentation & Adjudication of 2024 Grants
    • Council members to present as time permits:

      • Emily O’Neil

Parks and Recreation Commission‘s regularly scheduled meeting has been canceled. See Meeting Cancellation Notice.

Retirement Board will meet in person (Room B15) on Tuesday, December 19 at 9AM. The agenda includes the following:

  • Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (PRIM) Portfolio Review by Francesco Daniele, PRIM Director of Client Service
  • Transfer of funds to PRIM
  • Receipt of Mayor Fuller’s letter dated December 11, 2023, reappointing Anthony Logalbo as her Mayoral Appointee on the Board for a three-year term commencing January 1, 2024.
  • Director pay increase effective January 1, 2024
  • Receipt of three single physician medical panel certificates in connection with an application for accidental disability retirement.

  • Receipt of request for member survivor allowance pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 32, s.12(2)(d),

Board of Assessors will meet in person (Room 108) on Wednesday, December 20 at 9AM. The agenda includes approval of November 2023 Exemption and Abatement Reports.

Newton Citizens Commission on Energy will meet in person (Room 211) on Wednesday, December 20 at 7PM. The agenda includes discussion of NCCE efforts and priorities for 2024 and beyond.

Chestnut Hill Historic District Commission will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Thursday, December 21 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following requests:

  • Certificate of Appropriateness to remove an existing sign and install a similar sign in a different location at 26 Suffolk Road
  • Certificate of Appropriateness to replace windows at 17 Lee Road.

NOTE: The application for 101 Old Orchard Road was withdrawn from the December 21 meeting and moved to the January 18, 2024 meeting agenda.
