- Discussion of Possible Ordinance Regarding Vibration Control Measures (6-0)
- Request for a Study on Construction Vibration Standards (6-0)
Items were discussed together. Proposed ordinance would require a licensed and insured geotechnical professional to evaluate methods of construction and site conditions to inform vibration control plan. Apply to special permit and by right projects. On special permit projects, allow the City Council to incorporate previously used measures such as mitigation fund, where appropriate. Currently, the City can require vibration control measures only on special permit projects. Compaction of soil for decks, patios, landscaping work, sidewalks, driveways, retaining walls, or accessory buildings under 700 sq ft. are exempted from the proposed ordinance. Affected parties wishing to seek remediation would need to use private litigation.
