NPS seeks community input to create its “Portrait of a Graduate”

The Newton Public Schools (NPS) is beginning a four-month process January to create a “Portrait of a Graduate.” The portrait will be created by a “design team” composed of a wide variety of community members, and NPS hopes to include the larger Newton community in this process. The Portrait of a Graduate will be a collective vision that articulates aspirations for every student in the school district. NPS intends that the Portrait of a Graduate will serve as North Star for the schools, bringing the Newton community together with a shared vision.

To inform the development of the Portrait, NPS is actively engaging a wide variety of individuals in Newton — and inviting community members to consider joining the Portrait Design Team to share input and feedback. Meetings will be scheduled for January and February. More information about the process and meetings (currently scheduled for 6PM on January 17 & 18, February 8 & 13, and 6:30PM on March 4) can be found at NPS Portrait of a Graduate.

Community members interested in participating as a member of the Portrait of a Graduate Design Team should complete this form: Community Portrait of a Graduate Design Team Interest Form
