Understanding Our Differences will host a webinar, Sensory Processing in Children: How Parents Can Help, on Wednesday October 18 at 7PM. Advance registration is required. The webinar is free, and donations are welcome.
From the organizers: “Everything we do as human beings is dependent on our brains perceiving, interpreting and organizing the sensory information that surrounds us. Like many human abilities, this sensory processing can be variable, and impact the ease and success of many of our daily activities.”
Presenters Nikki Saccomandi and Kasey Joy, occupational therapists and assistant clinical directors at OTA the Koomar Center, will teach basic principles and strategies of sensory processing to help parents, teachers, and caregivers provide understanding and support to people with sensory processing challenges. The webinar will describe how modifying tasks and the environment can often make a huge difference in how people perceive the world.
