As a lifelong resident of Ward 2, graduate of the Newton Public Schools (NNHS 18) and the lead (and first!) volunteer on the David Micley campaign, I’m writing to encourage all Ward 2 residents to vote for David Micley to be your next Ward 2 Councilor.
David announced his campaign back in March – his message of putting residents first and coming at the issues with an open and independent mind resonated. I reached out to help, and David and I went straight to the doors together, starting in my neighborhood, the northernmost part of the Ward.
Since then, I’ve had a front row seat in seeing how our campaign gained momentum, matured, and yet through all of it, kept that resident-focused mindset front and center. We’ve knocked in the high heat. We’ve knocked in the rain. And we’ve engaged with thousands of incredible residents who opened up their homes and hearts to us, sharing a range of stories — including some that ended in laughter and others that ended in tears. What I love most about this campaign is that we aren’t knocking to win votes. We are knocking to connect. To learn. And to better understand what people are going through and what they need from their City so that if we win this thing, David is set up to be a more effective advocate for all those people we spoke with along the way.
I hope you’ll join me in voting for David Micley – a vote for David is a vote for the residents of Ward 2.
