Oliver: Micley puts residents’ interests first

As a City Councilor that has known David for years from his long time commitment to Newton public service, I strongly encourage all Ward 2 residents to vote for him to be your next Ward Councilor.

As we move ahead with our rezoning effort, it is important to have city councilors who put the interests of residents over those of developers. David shares my view that we should comply with the MBTA Communities Act, which calls for a 25% increase in by-right zoning, but not do more than that without further analysis. David is focused on making Newton the best it can be; further improving foundational city services including better streets and infrastructure, stronger schools, and responsible zoning. His MBA from MIT and experience in finance are assets that I trust he will put to great use in his time on the council. In addition, he is committed to constituent services and to listening and being an advocate for residents of Ward 2.

I had the chance to get out and meet my neighbors with David — and I can tell you he really cares about hearing from residents — he’s there not just to win votes, he’s there to listen and learn. If you haven’t met him yet, feel free to reach out to David directly anytime: his website is www.davidmicley.org, his email is micleyfornewton@gmail.com and personal cell is 617-413-6330. Call or text him anytime!
