The League of Women Voters Newton (LWVN) and Newton North High School’s Center for Civic Engagement and Service (CCES) will host a meet-the-candidates event — Saturday Night at the Races — on November 4, 3PM-5:30PM in the Newton North High School cafeteria. All Newton voters are invited to meet candidates running in the November 7 municipal election and ask them questions. All candidates — both those in contested races and those running unopposed — have been invited.
There will be ten tables, one for each of the city’s eight wards, plus two for School Committee candidates. Each table will have a moderator to make sure all voters have a chance to ask their questions and each candidate has an equal opportunity to respond. The event will be organized in ten 12-minute rounds to give everyone the opportunity to visit all ten tables.
