As a City Councilor and Chair of the Finance Committee, I’m writing to enthusiastically encourage Ward 2 residents to vote for David Micley as your next Ward Councilor.
I’ve known David for years and am supporting him because I know he is committed to local public service and will be an independent voice on the Council that will work collaboratively and advocate for the residents of Ward 2. At a time when our City Council is too often divided, we need to elect a leader like David who has made a point to run an independent campaign and has built positive relationships with elected officials and residents from diverse political perspectives. David’s MBA from MIT and strong background in finance will be especially helpful on the Council when it comes to analyzing the budget and making sure our tax dollars are spent wisely. As a former teacher, the father of three children, and a candidate endorsed by several Ward 2 Newton Public School educators, there is no one more committed to advocating for our schools than David. In these local elections, every vote counts — so please remember to go and vote, and vote Micley.
