Chamber launches video promoting opportunities to shop in Newton

The Charles River Regional Chamber has launched a 3-minute video — Get to Know Newton — highlighting many niche opportunities to shop in all parts of Newton. The video is featured in the Chamber’s Get to know Newton web page, which has a searchable directory of local shops, restaurants, and visitor information.

This is the fourth video in a campaign this year promoting businesses in the Chamber’s communities — Needham, Newton, Watertown, and Wellesley — to out-of-town visitors. The four videos were created by Newton’s Another Age Productions. Last year, the Chamber released a similar set of four videos promoting day-trip tourism in its Take A Trip Up the Charles campaign.

Chamber President Greg Reibman said, “Our goal is to support our local economy by highlighting scenic, historic, cultural, recreational, lodging, dining and retail destinations that make our communities unique to those visiting the region, or from the next community over.”

The Get to Know campaign was funded by Meet Boston! and the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism. Its success will depend in part on residents and businesses sharing the video widely with friends and customers.
