Wards 2 & 6: Vote in Preliminary Election, Sept.12 [updated]

Only voters in Ward 2 and Ward 6 will vote in the Preliminary Election on September 12 (polls open 7AM-8PM). In each of those wards, the Preliminary Election will narrow a field of three candidates for Ward Councilor to two candidates to compete in the November 7 municipal election. Incumbents are not running for re-election in these races.

Early voting will be available at City Hall on Tuesday, September 5, (8:30AM-5PM) and Wednesday September 6, (9AM-8PM).

Election Day, September 12 (7AM-8PM):

  • Ward 2
    • Precinct 1: Scandinavian Living Center (206 Waltham Street, West Newton) — new location this year
    • Precincts 2 & 3: Cabot School (229 Cabot Street, Newtonville)
    • Precinct 4: Newton Free Library (330 Homer Street, Newton Centre
  • Ward 6
    • Precincts 1 & 2: Bowen School (280 Cypress Street, Newton Centre)
    • Precinct 3: Hyde Community Center (90 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands)
    • Precinct 4: Mason Rice School (149 Pleasant Street, Newton Centre)
