On September 5 at 7PM, Newton’s four Area Councils will present debates for contested seats for the preliminary contests for Ward Councilors in Wards 2 and 6. The debates will be moderated by Marjorie Aarons-Baron at the Allen Center and live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube. Recordings will be available afterward. - 8PM debate: Ward 6 (Martha Bixby, Mark Holt, Lisa Gordon)
The Allen Center is located at 35 Webster Street (at corner of Cherry Street) in West Newton. There is no parking available on that side of the building other than one handicapped spot. There is limited onsite parking available on the Cherry Street side of the property in a lot that holds 25 cars and is adjacent to the primary entrance. n addition, there is overflow parking available at Family Access, 492 Waltham Street, one block from The Allen Center. The location of this event is wheelchair accessible and reasonable accommodations will be provided to persons with disabilities who require assistance. Please arrive by 6:45PM.
