St. Mary of Carmen Society: Gratitude for Festa success

On behalf of the Officers & Members of the St. Mary of Carmen Society, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who played a crucial role in making this year’s festival an astounding success. Without the invaluable partnership and support from the various City of Newton departments and City officials, we would not have been able to carry out this cherished annual celebration with such grandeur.

The events leading up to this year’s festa infused it with even greater significance. Coming together, away from the confines of our homes and the realm of social media, allowed us to engage in heartfelt conversations, share in the collective mourning, and rejoice in the spirit of camaraderie. This gathering provided a sense of solace to those in need and paid tribute to those we have lost, creating an atmosphere of profound emotional healing.

Despite the relentless downpour, we were deeply moved by the tremendous number of people who joined us in the processions. Their unwavering dedication and presence, even in the face of such adverse weather conditions, reaffirmed the profound impact of the Festa and its traditions on the lives of so many.

We are firmly committed to preserving Festa’s legacy, ensuring its continued prosperity, and passing it on to future generations with the same reverence as it was handed down to us. Maintaining seamless cooperation with all levels of City government to foster this cherished tradition is vital, not only for the positive influence it has on the Nonantum neighborhood but for the city as a whole.

We must also thank our sponsors, Village Bank, Honda Village, Cabot Park Village, Dion’s, Fabrizia Spirits, Brookline Bank, Pat’s Ticket Center, Salon XS, Rockland Trust, Earle Coppola RE, W.M. Earle & Son Painting, Olivia’s Bistro & of course State Representative John Lawn. With their annual support we know the Festa & Society’s mission will continue.

Once again, we express our deepest gratitude to all who contributed to the triumph of this year’s Festa. We eagerly look forward to the upcoming Festa from July 17th to 21st, 2024, with heightened anticipation and enthusiasm. Together, let us continue to weave the tapestry of traditions, culture, and community that defines this exceptional celebration.

With warm regards and utmost appreciation,

Chuck Proia, Festival Chairman
Franco Battista, President
Carl Pasquarosa, Vice President
